The scene at the city's iconic Brandenburg Gate looked more like Christmas than Easter.\n\nIt had looked like the weather was improving in the week leading up to the Easter weekend but with temperaturs reaching as low as - 6 C the cold snap continued and brought with it more snow.\n\nMuch of northern Europe is experiencing cold weather which is unusual for this time of year. Average highs for Berlin at the end of March in a normal year is 8 to 13 C.\n\nForecasters predict that the snowy weather will continue throughout the weekend and into early April.
