Dr Padwick is from the Federated States of Micronesia. It's a country with no eye care system. He talks about his early experiences as a doctor being unable to treat patients with eye problems. An Australian outreach team changed his life by suggesting he apply for a scholarship from The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ to study eye care in Suva. He's now nearing the end of his studies and will be returning home to FSM to lead a specially trained eye care team. Dr Padwick is a manifestation of Fred's dream: local doctors restoring sight to the needlessly blind.
