Tripoli appeared calm on Tuesday night and residents were out shopping after breaking their fast for Ramadan despite fighting between forces loyal to embattled Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi and rebels continuing in other parts of the country.\nFootage filmed under strict supervision of the Libyan government showed traffic in Tripoli s Green Square and people shopping.\nFattah Abdullah a resident in Tripoli said that people were living life as normal.\nWe do not care about the NATO anymore we are living as we were before we live we do shopping we do everything actually we do not care anymore Abdullah said.\nAnother resident Ammar Ali also said that the situation was normal.\nDespite of the continuous bombing of NATO every night people are out on the streets we cannot find the words to express how people are getting out on the streets to shop during Ramadan the situation is normal Ali said.\nMeanwhile heavy fighting was taking place for control of the strategic city of Zawiya just 30 miles 48 kilometres west of Tripoli between opposition fighters and government forces loyal to Gadhafi where the rebels were trying to cut supply routes between Tunisia and Tripoli.\nThe routes are critical for moving food fuel and weapons over land to the capital.\nWith NATO North Atlantic Treaty Organisation imposing a no-fly zone over Libya for months and bombarding regime targets the coastal road has become a lifeline between the capital and the outside world.\nThe eastern half of the country is now firmly in rebel control with a transitional leadership based in the de facto capital of Benghazi.\nThe east s main front line is at the strategic oil terminal of Brega where trucks carrying rebel anti-Gadhafi forces entered on Tuesday.\nBrega has passed back and forth many times between rebel and regime control. Brega is nearly 500 miles 800 kilometres west of Zawiya.
