Amateur video purportedly filmed on Wednesday showed plumes of smoke rising above the skyline in the Yemeni capital Sanaa.\nExplosions and gunfire could be heard on the video which was posted by a group that calls itself mediacentersanaa.\nThe smoke was reportedly coming from the central Kentucky intersection area.\nAnother video also posted by the same group purportedly showed revolutionary youths rescuing an injured man at Kentucky intersection on Wednesday.\nAP Television cannot independently verify the authenticity date and location of the amateur footage. \nMediacentersanaa said neither of the videos were related to Wednesday s attacks by government forces which killed 16 people.\nThe forces fired mortars at tens of thousands of mourners at funerals held for protesters killed in clashes and attacked an opposition base shattering a cease-fire negotiated a day earlier to end the Arab nation s latest bout of deadly violence. \nRenewed violence in the Yemeni capital killed at least nine people on Thursday as street battles broke out between forces loyal to the regime and its opponents medical and security officials said.\nThe latest deaths took to about a 100 the number of people killed in Sanaa and elsewhere in Yemen since Sunday in the worst bout of bloodshed in months. \nThe deaths also shattered hope that a cease-fire negotiated on Tuesday could be restored and significantly diminished the chances for a proposal by Yemen s Gulf Arab neighbours to end the crisis.\nThe Gulf plan backed by the United States provides for President Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down in exchange for immunity and for the vice president to\ntake the reins of power until elections are held.
