Tracking shot of people gathered near hospital entrance some holding a stretcher \nSTORYLINE \nYemeni government forces fired mortars at tens of thousands of mourners on Wednesday in the capital Sanaa killing three and wounding at least 16.\nThe mourners were gathered for funeral prayers for anti-government protesters killed in three previous days of government gunfire.\nAmateur video released on Wednesday purportedly showed wounded mourners being rushed into a makeshift hospital. \nSeveral people appeared to be seriously injured. \nAP Television cannot independently verify the authenticity or date of the amateur footage. \nWednesday s violence breached a cease-fire negotiated a day earlier to end deadly clashes between government forces and opponents of the regime.\nMore than 80 people have been killed since Sunday. \nThe protesters are becoming increasingly impatient with their president Ali Abdullah Saleh who they say is dragging his feet instead of signing a deal to step down.\nGulf and UN mediators appear to have given up on persuading Yemen s opposition and the government to talk about their transition plan which has been on the table for months. \nIt would allow Saleh to resign in exchange for immunity from prosecution. Saleh has come close to signing several times only to pull back at the last minute.\nSaleh is still in Saudi Arabia where he went for treatment after suffering severe wounds in an attack on his compound in June. \nLast week he appointed his vice president to negotiate over the Gulf Cooperation Council plan. The opposition rejected that as more stalling.
