Myanmar put larger-value denomination of currency notes of 10000 Kyats into circulation Friday while keeping all other existing currency notes and coins as legal tender.\nThe new 10000 Kyat banknotes are another larger-value denomination of currency notes to be introduced nearly three years after currency notes of 5000-Kyat were put into circulation on Oct. 1 2009.\nThe bank authorities move is seen as part of the efforts to facilitate high-value transactions.\nHowever the introduction of the new banknotes of 10000 Kyats which is two times that of the face value of the last 5000 Kyats is expected to draw public concern and the impact on the financial market and the commodity prices remains to be uncertain.\nIn the third branch of Myanma economy bank residents came to exchange new banknotes on the first issuing day.\nI would like to keep new currencies as souvenir said Kyaw Naing Oo a local resident.\nI don t need to take so many banknotes in the future when remitting.
