BLT Dip1 cup mayonnaise1 cup sour cream2 tomatoes, diced and drained1 pound bacon, fried crisp, drained and crumbledShredded lettuce1 (1 pound) loaf sourdough bread, cut into bite-size chunksIn a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, tomatoes and bacon. Spread on  bottom of a pie plate or other small serving dish. Top with shredded lettuce and serve with bread chunks.Makes 3 cups.

East Indian DipPosted by Olga at recipegoldmine.com 8/11/02 3:15:46 pm1/2 cup orange marmalade 3 tablespoons cider vinegar 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 1 tablespoon brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon curry powder 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger 1 1/2 teaspoons  Worcestershire 1/3 cup dairy sour cream Combine all ingredients except sour cream in saucepan. Bring to boil. Simmer, stirring constantly, until sauce is blended. Let cool. Mix with sour cream. This keeps very well in refrigerator, thickening somewhat as it stands.Makes about 1 cup.

Chick Pea Dip1 (16 ounce) can chick peas (garbanzos), drained1/4 cup sesame sauce (Tahini)1/8 cup liquid from chick peas1/2 cup fresh lemon juice1 clove garlic, crushed1/2 teaspoon salt, or to tasteHeat the chick peas and the 1/8 cup liquid in a saucepan. In blender put the  1/8 cup heated liquid, sesame sauce and lemon juice. Blend on high speed for 10 seconds. Then gradually add drained chick peas until a smooth paste is achieved. Add crushed garlic and salt. Blend at high speed for 10 seconds. Place in closed container and chill in refrigerator until ready to serve.To serve, dribble a few drops of olive oil on top of dip and garnish with 1 tablespoon of fresh chopped parsley.Serve with carrot and celery sticks or cocktail crackers.

Green Goddess DipCombine 3/4 cup mayonnaise, 3/4 cup sour cream, 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice and 4 finely minced anchovies in a bowl. Mince 1/4 cup parsley and 1 clove garlic and add to dip. Thinly slice 2 tablespoons each scallions and fresh chives and add to dip. Add 2  teaspoons dried tarragon or 2 tablespoons fresh tarragon. Salt and pepper to taste. Combine well.Cover and refrigerate for several hours before serving with vegetables or chips.

Hoagie Dip1/2 pound cooked ham, thinly sliced1/2 pound Genoa salami, thinly sliced1 pound processed American cheese, sliced2 cups mayonnaise2 teaspoons dried oregano 1 onion, chopped1/2 head iceberg lettuce, shredded2 tomatoes, diced12 hoagie rolls, torn into pieces for  dippingTear the ham, salami and American cheese into small pieces. Place in a large bowl.In a medium bowl, blend the mayonnaise and oregano. Mix the mayonnaise mixture into the ham mixture 1/2 cup at a time, until meats and cheese are well coated. Mix in the onion.Before serving, mix in the lettuce and tomatoes. Serve with the hoagie roll pieces for dipping.

Avocado WontonsYield: 48 wontons4 large avocados (cut into 3/4 inch pieces) 1 tablespoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon dry chipotle powder Juice of 1 lime 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro (chopped fine - no stems) Kosher salt and black pepper 1 egg (whisk until thin) 48 wonton  wrappersToss avocados with garlic, chipotle, lime juice, cilantro, kosher salt and pepper. Brush wonton wrappers edges with egg wash and fold diagonally. Press to seal. Fry in 350 degree F peanut oil until golden brown.
